Dinh-Pham-M.D.2
Dr. Pham immigrated to the United States from Vietnam in 1975 at the age of 5 with his entire family. In the first year in America, they moved from places to places; California, Nevada, Minnesota, and finally Ohio, where he resided for 21 years. He is the third of six children, one brother and four sisters. His parents ran a Chinese-Vietnamese-American restaurant where he worked and learned to cook along side his family until he graduated from college. He speaks English, Vietnamese, a little French and Spanish.

He went to Wright State University in Dayton Ohio where he did his undergraduate in Psychology. After graduation he continued at the same university where he pursued his medical training . During his medical training, he took interests in teaching community children about the toxic effects of drug and alcohol abuse. But the most important experience was

when he went to Swaziland South Africa for a medical school rotation to assist other physician in the care of an underserved population. The experienced opened his eyes to the necessity for good medical care and compassion.

After graduation from medical school, he continued in his medical care in Internal medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. There he saw the diversity and complexity of medical illness that only a big city could offer. Fortunately, he was mentored by someone who fostered great care and compassion for the older adults. This experience opened his eyes to the field of Geriatric medicine. He continued his education in Geriatric Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. There he learned about the basic concept of Geriatric care and did his research about constipation in older adults in the nursing home. After graduation from Mount Sinai Medical Center, he continues his medical career working with the medical group established by Dr. Andy Mencia.

Dr. Pham hobbies include cooking, especially Asian fusion style food. He loves to swim to keep in shape, and painting.
